When the Energy Just Disappeared

Life was going well. And then it just wasn’t.

There is no exact moment you can point to. Something you used to count on has gone missing: your drive, your focus, your ability to keep going. You spend time wondering how you lost it. More than that, you wonder how to get it back.

What You Want Back

It would be great to sleep at night. Those calm thoughts would be nice to have again. You can worry less about the opinions of others and get back to who you were before the anxiety started taking over.

The strength you’re looking for hasn’t left you. You’ve simply lost sight of it.

Your Body Is Telling You Something Your Mind Keeps Ignoring

When you’re running on an empty tank, your body knows before your mind admits it. You get that extra wind every so often. And you enjoy it. But you also fear the moment it disappears again. So you bottle it, stretch it, ration it. Surviving from one good hour to the next.

The Part of You That Is Never Unsettled

Deeper breathing brings more oxygen into your cells. Breathing from your belly, not your chest, pulls you out of survival mode and into presence.

The Christ-centered self inside you, the part that is never unsettled, never left. That part is still there. Reconnecting to it is where the work begins.

What Happens When You Work with Me

I bring more than 30 years of experience working with teens, young adults, and families navigating some of the hardest seasons of their lives. What I do in the room is an honest conversation – the kind you haven’t been able to have anywhere else.

Together we’ll use:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): Noticing the thoughts you’ve been believing, asking whether they’re actually true, and replacing the ones that hurt with ones that help.
  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT): Skills for when the emotions get too big, helping you stay with a feeling without letting it run you.
  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT): Stopping the fight against feelings you can’t outrun, so your energy goes toward the life you actually want.
  • Narrative Therapy: Telling the story of what happened in a way that puts the problem outside of you, where it belongs.
  • Biblical Principles: Faith is welcome in this room. Scripture and your relationship with God are part of the work, not a side note.
  • Art Therapy and Sand Tray: For the moments when words aren’t enough, other ways exist to get the inside out.

The “Big Mama / Auntie” Energy

I call it the “Big Mama / Auntie” energy: the person you can tell the things you couldn’t tell anywhere else, who holds you with warmth and still tells you the truth.

Walk afraid, if you have to. Courage isn’t the absence of fear. It’s moving while you’re scared.

What Your Life Looks Like When the Work Takes Hold

Decisions start getting made in daylight. Before, you were choosing from a place of limited options, limited sight – making decisions at midnight when everything looks different. The work brings you back to a wider view.

The Smile. The Strengths. The Social Life.

Social activities return. The smile comes back more easily. The anxiety loosens its grip on your thinking. And the strengths you’ve lost sight of (but that you’ve been carrying all along) come back into view.
